Care Certificate Standard 11 – Safeguarding Children is part of the 16 Care Certificate Standards online courses for care workers and anyone aspiring to work in a care setting.
This online course enables the learner to understand the different forms of child maltreatment, the impact it can have on a child or young person, what you should do if you do have concerns about a child. The course also meets the statutory and mandatory training requirements and learning outcomes for Safeguarding Children in the UK Core Skills Training Framework (UK CSTF).
This online course can be studied alone, or can be studied as part of the full 16 standards for the Care Certificate.

Learning Outcomes include:
1. Describe the different forms of child maltreatment (physical, emotional, sexual abuse and neglect)
2. Describe how common child maltreatment is and the impact it can have on a child or young person
3. Indicate what you should do if you do have concerns about child maltreatment; including local policies and procedures, who to contact and where to obtain further advice and support
4. Identify the importance of sharing information and the consequences of failing to do so
5. Identify what to do if you feel that your concerns are not being taken seriously or you experience any other barriers when referring a child/family
5. Describe the risks associated with the internet and online social networking
6. Identify what the term 'looked-after child' means
7. Recognise possible signs of child maltreatment that you might come across in your work
8. Identify how to seek appropriate advice, report concerns and feel confident that you have been listened to
9. Indicate a willingness to listen to children and young people and to act on their issues and concerns
10. Show an awareness of the impact of female genital mutilation (FGM), domestic violence and a carer's mental/physical health on a child
11. Show an awareness that vulnerable children and young people may be susceptible to radicalisation (PREVENT programme)

Refund Policy

If, as a consumer, you change your mind about your course purchase, you can apply for a refund within 14 days of purchase, provided that you haven't accessed any part of your course material.
However, note that you are no longer eligible for refund if you have accessed any part of the course material, or communicated with any course tutors.
If someone is eligible for refund, we will issue them with a credit note.

Pay for each learner to study the course
Each enrolment is for one person.
The Learner Enrolment is provided on a named person basis.
The learner must not share their enrolment with anyone else.
Learner enrolments and learner accounts are not interchangeable,
Enrolments are not transferable.
No one is allowed to login to someone else's learner account.
If a manager or buyer wants to enrol more than one person, they must pay for each person.
If a manager or buyer wants access to the course or courses, they must pay for their own unique enrolment that gives them access in the personal capacity.
A buyer is must not attempt to undermine the integrity of our quality-assured online learning delivery by attempting to access a course that they are not personally enrolled into.
