The learner does not have to be in a management job before enrolment, as this is a knowledge-based qualification.

Entry requirements

 

This recognised qualification is accredited by Ofqual to be made available to learners in England and Northern Ireland. 

 

The learner must be able to read and comprehend written course materials delivered in English.

Any prospective learner who is not able to, or not willing to read information and learning resources provided to them, will not meet the minimum requirement for studying ths recognised qualification. 

 

This qualification learning and assessments are done online, therefore the learner must have access to an internet-enabled device, such as, desktop, laptop or tablet.

 

The learner doesn't need to provide evidence of a work placement to study this recognised qualification.

 

No previous leadership and management knowledge required.

 

To be able to lead and manage a care setting, the learner must be competent in delivery of frontline care in England as a senior care assistant, senior support worker, senior personal assistant, and be able to support and supervise care assistants and support workers. Therefore, previous experience of working in health and social care in England is preferred.

    The Highfield Level 4 Certificate in Principles of Leadership and Management for Adult Care (RQF) delivers 34 credits of Ofqual-accredited level 4 leadership and management learning and development for anyone working or aspiring to manage or lead any part of the health and social care sector.

    Employers, managers, trainers, can use this qualification as part of manager induction, their manager training and re-training, and ensuring all managers, team leaders and care coordinators are trained to be competent.

    The qualification units can also be used as standards for group training and manager supervision. The certificates of completion means that the employer can provide evidence in manager files for each completed learning activity.
