Month 1: Care Certificate 16 Standards from Standard 1 (Your Role) to Standard 16 (Learning Disability and Autism). Plus Statutory & Mandatory Training (SMT) on Fire Safety, Conflict Resolution and Manual Handling.
Month 2: Knowledge-based elements of Level 2 Adult Care. Bridge the gap between "awareness" and "understanding," specifically focusing on Duty of Care, Personal Development, and Safeguarding Principles within a professional setting.
Phase 2: The Practitioner (Months 3–4)
Role: Care or Support Worker
Aligns with the Level 2 Diploma in Care, shifting the focus from theory to the competence and skills required on the floor.
Month 3: Emphasises daily responsibilities, with Care Planning, Supporting Distressed Individuals, and the practical implementation of Person-Centred Care.
Month 4: Specialised clinical and practical tasks, including Infection Control, Medication Administration (and the vital record-keeping involved), and understanding Sensory Loss to better support diverse needs.

Month 5: Focuses on promotion and advocacy by promoting Effective Communication, Choice, and Independence, ensuring the service user is at the heart of every decision.

Month 6: Health and safety governance with Risk Management, Infection Prevention, and the legalities of Duty of Care from a leadership perspective.

Month 7: Tackles complex legal frameworks, including the Mental Capacity Act, Restrictive Practice, and Advance Care Planning. Also learn the Principles of Assessing vocational knowledge, skills, and behaviours (KSBs) in the work environment.
Phase 4: Management & Strategy (Months 8–12)
Role: Supervisor to Registered Manager
Shifts from "Direct Care" to "Business Operations" to run a care service, manage a budget, lead a team, manage the external business environment, and more.
